How to KNIT A FLOWER Part 2

This is Part 2 of How to Knit a Flower.  Part 1 was described in a previous article.  Again, this flower can be used as a decoration for many different projects.  In the photo below I used it to enhance a head band that I knitted.

Here are the instructions for the middle, or medium, tier of the flower.  Remember, if you make a mistake in your counting it will still come out o-k.

Medium flower

Cast on 68 sts.  #6 needles.

Row 1: K1, * bind off 3sts, K2, rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 2: Purl.

Row 3: K1, * bind off 2 sts, K2 to last 3 sts., cast off 2 sts, K1. Row 4: Purl.

Row 5: K1, * K2tog, K1 rep from *to last 2 sts K2tog.

Row 6: Purl.

Row 7: K2tog across the row

Row 8: Purl.

Pull yarn through remaining stitches and sew sides.
